"Tis The Season To Be Mindful"

As we are in the midst of the holiday season; shopping, decorating our homes, sending off holiday cards, and preparing to celebrate with loved ones; I want us to be mindful that this is not a joyous occasion for everyone but a sad reminder of loved ones that have passed away. Experiencing a loss (no matter what kind and no matter how long ago) has a deep impact on every aspect of one's physical and emotional well-being.

There are many types and levels of grief. Grief is something we have all experienced or will experience one day. It is one of life's experiences that we all have in common with each other irregardless of your race, sex, creed or religion. Grief has a way of making you feel that you are stuck in a moment of time. Many times that feeling of being stuck isn't the grief itself, but the fact that you don't even recognize that you've lost something and that there is not only a need to grieve but a need to have a healing plan in place to move forward.

Grief doesn't fit in a box it's not a one size fits all. Some forms of grief take years to work through while other types may take months, weeks, or a single moment of deep acknowledgement. Everyone is impacted by grief differently and for different reasons. Grief is an individual journey of highs and lows much like a roller coaster ride. Losing a loved one is a traumatic experience that many go through alone.

There are soo many people who suffer in silence during the holiday season. Let's make sure to be mindful of those that are grieving and reach out to them with love and kindness. Don't let them spend this season feeling alone. Embrace them with the support they need to get through this most difficult time of their life.

Make sure to tune in this month to *The Healthy Entrepreneur every Monday at 4:30 am and 7:30 pm (est) on www.881thetruth.com under The Every.Black Channel; as we will be dedicating our shows to the different shades of grief. We want to help everyone to know this is the season to be mindful of those grieving.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed." Ps. 34:18 NLT
